Sub-Saharan Africa. With its management in the Netherlands and most business
departments stationed in South Africa, the company stationed its SW development
team in Prague and Beroun, Czech Republic.
solution mostly based on open-source means and has plenty of technical
talent already with its teams. We are now looking for a leader to take the
burden of management away from those who are best suited for technical work.
Your task will be to take over the management of projects and everyday SW
development management tasks.
technicalities are not gibberish for you and you would appreciate being able to
take part in the development of a very technical and progressive product, this
offer might be just for you. We need a manager with background in SW
development and some notion of Agile management. In return, we can offer
meaningful work in a small, informal team working on an interesting,
multiple-platform product and a chance to see the company grow.
What will you do?
- You’ll take off some of the
management tasks from current team leaders who need to devote more time to
actual technical problems. You will be a people manager, you will help manage
capacity and priorities, and you will organize the development itself.
- You will interface with the product
team in South Africa in order to manage requirements.
- Occasionally, you will manage
standalone projects (e.g. website refresh project).
What we need:
- First and foremost for you to understand
SW development and to be willing to learn about the Video-on-Demand platform in
- Experience with the management of SW
development team. Agile approach would be a big plus. Having a history of
leading a SCRUM team is also an advantage.
- SW project management experience.
- You need to be fluent in English.
Most day-to-day communication is in English
